Welcome

Thank you for visiting my video blog. My name is Dave Alegre, the artist behind most of the videos you see here. Seventeen years ago I taped and edited my first project and it has been twelve years since I taped my first official wedding. It has been a challenging and exciting journey for my family and me. This career has allowed me to create countless memories for people around the world. It has allowed me to travel to destinations from Hawaii, the Bahamas and as far as Italy, but most of all it has allowed me to meet my beautiful wife, Grace.

What is the purpose of my video blog? I’m a storyteller at heart, but rather than writing, I like to use images—combining movement and audio. Here I will post current and past projects that showcase you – my family, friends and clients. For my videos that date back as far as the early 90’s, I never had the opportunity to do this because the technology never existed. Today I can, I may even post my own experimental home videos that I learned from – depending on how embarassing they might be! You’ll be able to watch the progression of quality and creativity in my craft. My hope is that this blog will keep you entertained. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. If that’s the case, then a video is worth a billion!

If you like what you see and feel when you watch these videos, then hire us. We are available to travel anywhere around the world for your hometown or destination wedding.

Most videos will be posted at their fullest length, if you want to watch short samples, view my trailers on our website link at the top of this blog. Enjoy!

David & Denise’s Highlights Intro (SD)

What a cute couple and they had greatest first dance! This video has made me realize that you don’t have to put scenes in chronological order to show the wedding day. It all makes sense at the end. To see parts of the fun reception go to: visionaryprohd

Jesssica & Joel’s Wedding Video Intro shot in HD

Being perfectionist has its problems, but I’m going to have to be satisfied. This video turned out great and l love the quality of HD footage. But besides the quality of shooting in HD. I believe what you hear is more important than what you see. Picking up good quality sound is more important than anything else in video. It is the the emotions that we feel when we can hear the original thoughts and voices from the video. Something that can’t be replicated by just looking at photos or video images with just music. To me capturing good vocal sound is practically 80% of the success. Can you imagine not hearing your vows? With our recorders and cordless microphones we captured it all with Jessica & Joel’s wedding.

Jessica & Joel’s Love Story Movie (2008) HD
Old Dominion University

Get out the popcorn because this is 23 minutes of craziness. Check it out, I had fun directing it! Jessica and Joel was a blast to work with. They even included their wedding party to act in the movie. It’s a story about how they kind of met in ODU back in the day. Everyone has 15 mins of fame, but they had 23. This video was shown at their wedding reception on a big projection screen.

Drake & Alison’s Same Day Edit (partial video)

It was such a great pleasure to tape Drake & Alison. It was even a greater pleasure to show glimpse of their wedding day in front of their entire guest. Congratulations to both on a fun filled day of excitement and joy!

Sammie & Tonya’s Unique Vows (2005) SD
Williamsburg Va.

What are the two elements that differentiate video from photography? You guest it, sound and movement. Watch as you hear the wedding vows of Sammie & Tonya . Hilarious because Sammie hesitated say them.

Margie & Reymond Pascual’s Same Day Edit (HD to SD 4:3 Aspect Ratio)

Another video quickly edited and shown during reception time. Two doctors in love…Congratulations!

Tamara & David’s Wedding Highlights (SD)

A patient and beautiful couple, they love to smile! :)

Sample of Marci & John’s Reality Style Wedding Video (2006) SD
Norfolk Botanical Gardens

Can you say “reality show?” After shooting so many weddings, I felt it was time for us to try something different. Too many times I’ve seen wedding videos that are just edited with music and no monologue or dialogue from the couple. If nothing is being said, a story isn’t being told. I felt adding interviews created a true dimension to this video. It allowed Marci and John to express how they felt during their wedding day. Typical wedding videos overuse slow motion shots with just music. Not this video! It tells a story just like the reality shows you watch on TV. Check it out this was our first!

Canice & Ryan’s Same Day Edit / Live Version (HD to SD 4:3 aspect ratio)

Video was quickly edited and shown at the reception during dinner time. What stress it can be…
